Que, Quien, Lo que, and Cuyo & Cual
El/la cual and los/las cuales examples
Ex: Acabo de encontrar el pago de la clienta, el cual se había perdido. -I have just found the client's payment, which had been lost. Ex: Usted es la empleada en la cual deposito mi confianza. -You are the employee in whom I put my trust.
Cuyo Example
Ex: Las cuentas, cuyos depósitos rivaste, eran anónimas. -The accounts, whose deposits you checked, were anonymous.
El/la cual and los/las cuales
Meaning that, which, who and whom -used to identify which of two antecedents of different genders is being talked about -also used after prepositions to refer to things or persons
Que
Meaning that, which, who, and whom is used for both persons and objects -never optional if it is needed
Lo que
Meaning what and that which -a neutral form that refers to an idea or a previous event or situation
Quien(es)
Meaning who and whom -refers to only persons and is most commonly used after prepositions or when a clause is set off by commas
Cuyo/a(s)
Meaning whose, of whom, and of which -relative possessive adjective -agrees with gender and number of the noun it precedes -always repeated before nouns of different genders and agrees with each one
De quién(es)
Used to express whose in a question or the answer to a question containing it Ex: ¿De quiénes son estas cuentas? Whose accounts are these?
