We discussed how Gordie's short stories are autobiographical, in a way. In other words, that he writes stories and creates characters in order to help-him deal with the problems he is facing in real life ("escapism"). How might Gordie be using this short story as a way of dealing with the problems in his own life?

Gordie may have written this story as a kid getting revenge since he may want to get revenge on several people. He may not be able to do what he actually wants to do in real life so he writes stories in order for him to have a sort of stimulation of how he would want things to go

The leech was something Gordie must have been an incident where he was in distress which may have tampered with his memory of what exactly happened. It was an issue Gordie had a hard time solving also finding a way to explain this exact memory must be hard to make it as discrete to the viewers.
