Greater sciatic notch

Large indentation below the posterior iliac spine located on the posterior side opposite the two spines.

Acetabulum

Located on the lateral side of the os coxa. The location is near where the three bones (ilium, ischium, and pubis) fuse together to form the os coxa. The acetabulum articulates with the head of the femur.

Sacroiliac Joint

On the medial, posterior side of the ilium of each os coxa, there is a rough region that will join to the lateral sides of the sacrum to form the sacroiliac joint. (Sacroiliac is the same as the sacrum ilium).

Ischium

Part of the fused os coxa. Located on the posterior inferior side. Articulates with the femur.

Ilium

Part of the os coxa that forms the hip. Its located on the superior portion of the three fused bones. Functions as the hip bone.

Ischial Tuberosity

Rough surface located on the posterior side of the os coxa. Its inferior to the ischial spine.

Ischial Spine

Sharp bump located on the posterior side of the os coxa. Its inferior to the greater sciatic notch and superior to the ischial tuberosity.

Pubic Tubercle

Sharp point, its located on the anterior superior portion of the pubis.

Iliac Fossa

Smooth depression under the iliac crest. It's located on the medial position of the ilium.

Pubic symphysis

The joint that connects the pubic tubercles from both os coxa together.

Obturator Foramen

This foramen is located inferior to the ilium and anterior to the ischium.

Iliac Crest

smooth ridge on the ilium. It's located on the superior portion of the ilium.

Pubis

Bone fused to form the os coxa. Its located on the anterior inferior side. It articulated with the femur.

Pelvic Girdle

Forms the hips and is the pivot for the legs and the vertebral column.
