What is the Cabinet and what are their responsibilities?

The cabinet is a body of advisers for the President and they make up all the departments of the Executive Branch. Their responsibility is to carry out the administration of the Federal Government.

Roles of Chief of Staff

The two roles of Chief of Staff are managerial and advisory. For Managerial the Chief of Staff must be able to select qualified members and oversee them in the White House Staff system. They must also be able to organize things according to the President's style of business while also allowing a flow of information to come in without creating a bias or influence on the president. The other role is advisory which essentially is the responsibility of informing the president on politics, current events, and national and international affairs. It is also their job to protect the intersts of the presidency while also being able to negotiate with his environment (Congress, Legislative, Judicial etc)
