Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune

Mercury

The closest planet to the Sun and the smallest planet in our solar system. Even though it is the closest planet to the Sun it is not the hottest planet, its dark side gets incredibly cold.

Neptune

The eighth and final known planet from the Sun, a gas giant, and the coldest planet in our solar system. It was found using telescopes and complex mathematical formulas that predicted its location.

Jupiter

The fifth planet from the Sun, a gas giant, and the largest planet in our solar system. If you combine every other planet in our solar system and multiplied them by two it still wouldn't be as big as Jupiter.

Mars

The fourth planet from the Sun and is about half of Earth's size. Due to its blood red color caused by rusting iron in its soil we named it after the Roman God of War.

Venus

The second planet from the Sun and the closest planet to Earth's size. It is the hottest planet in the solar system due to its incredibly thick atmosphere.

Uranus

The seventh planet from the Sun, a gas giant, and the first planet discovered by using a telescope. Its tilt is 98 degrees and because of its extreme tilt it appears to be rolling around the Sun on its side.

Saturn

The sixth planet from the Sun, a gas giant, and famous for its rings. Its moon Titan is widely considered to be another place in our solar system that could harbor some form of life.

The Sun

The star at the center of our solar system and also known as Sol. It is the largest object in the solar system. It is 1.3 million times as big as Earth. If you put everything in the solar system on a scale (planets, moons, comets etc.) the Sun's weight would be accountable for 99.86% of the weight.

Earth

The third planet from the Sun and the only planet that we know of that harbors life. Its surface is mostly covered in water which is why it is called "The Blue Planet."

Pluto

Was once considered to be the ninth planet from the Sun but it was demoted to dwarf planet by astronomers. Don't worry Pluto I'm not a planet either.
