What is the role of covenant in salvation history?
The covenant is a solemn agreement between people or between God and man involving mutual commitments and guarantes. The role it plays in salvation history is that as time progressed, these convenants become more expansive, concrete, and demanding. For example, while the covenant with Noah was made with one family the covenant with Moses was extended to an entire people. While the convenant with Abraham required circumcision, the covenant with Moses also included a detailed set of laws known as the Ten Commandments.
