Visible light
Carotenoid
Absorbs wavelengths of light different from those absorbed bychlorophyll, pigments produce fruit and vegetable colors.
Chlorophyll
Primary Pigment involved in photosynthesis absorbs blue and red light and reflects green and yellow light.
Pigment
Structure that absorbs certain wavelength of light.
Wavelength
The wavelengths of light determines its color
Ultraviolet radiation
Ultraviolet radiation has a shorter wavelength than the visible violet light. Infrared radiation has a longer wavelength than the visible red light. The white light is a mixture of the colors of the visible spectrum. Black is a total absence of light.
Light
light behaves as if it were composed of "units" or "packets" of energy that travel in waves. These packets are photons.
Amplitude
the deviation from the mean, of whatever is being studied (displacement, pressure)
Human eye
the human eye is not capable of seeing radiation with wavelengths outside the visible spectrum. The visible colors from shortest to longest wavelength are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet
Visible light
this visible light corresponds to a wavelength range of 400-700 nanometers and a color range of violet through red.
