3-D printer

Printer that uses a process called additive manufacturing to create an object by adding material to a three-dimensional object, one horizontal layer at a time. (Or) Printer that can print solid objects such as clothing, prosthetics, eyewear, implants, toys, parts, prototypes, and more.

DV technology

Technology used with DV (digital video) cameras that allows you to input, edit, manage, publish, and share your videos.

Smart TV

Television containing an embedded computer that enables you to browse the web, stream video from online media services, listen to Internet radio, communicate with others on social media sites, play online games, and more - all while watching a television show.

dot pitch

The amount of space between pixels, which affects the display quality of images shown on a monitor.

LCD

display technology that sandwiches a liquid compound between two sheets of material that presents sharp, flicker-free images on a screen when illuminated

gaming keyboard

is a keyboard designed specifically for users that enjoy playing games on the computer.

A type of nonimpact printer that prints high-quality images by using heat to transfer colored ink to specially coated paper.

handwriting recognition software

A type of software that enables a computer to recognize handwritten notes and convert them into text.

OLED

Organic light emitting diode. A display technology that uses electroluminescence to light red green and blue subpixels that not only light the display like their LED counterparts but also produce the image like the cells in a plasma display.

signature capture pad

Pen input device that captures handwritten signatures with a stylus that is attached to the device.

large-format printer

Printer that uses ink-jet technology, but on a much larger scale, to create photo-realistic-quality color prints.

QR code

Quick Response code; a type of two-dimensional bar code, consisting of black modules in a square pattern on a white background, that can hold a large amount of any kind of data

RFID reader

Reading device that reads information on an RFID tag via radio waves.

native resolution

Resolution of an LCD display that produces the best display quality.

Frame Rate

Speed at which video frames appears on a screen; measured by FPS (frames per second)

Aspect Ratio

The relationship of width to height in a picture or shape.

Digitizer

The touchscreen overlay technology that converts finger and stylus contact into input data for the device to use.

force feedback

active matrix
