What agreements did it include?

Congress kept the peace by admitting Missouri as a slave state and Maine as a free state. Slavery wasn't allowed passed the 36*30 parallel in the Louisiana purchase lands, which was the land above the southern border of Missouri.

What consequences did it have?

It angered southerners because this compromise would lead to the end of slavery. It aided to ending slavery because it was said that no slaves could be brought in outside of Missouri, and that any slave born into slavery was to be freed after 25 years

What is the Missouri Compromise?

It was an agreement written by Henry Clay over the new Missouri territory that decided whether it would be a slave or free state. It was passed in 1820.

Why was the Compromise necessary?

It was needed because if Missouri became a state then the south would hold majority voting in the south and thus off setting the senate.
