What events led to the Boston Massacre?

British troops were sent to the colonies and usually fight started between Bostonians and soldiers. Then on March 5, 1770 a fight broke out between a British soldier and Bostonian causing a crowd to form and throw and throw things at the soldier. Later more troops came and the Boston massacre happened.

The purpose of the Tea Act was to have the amount of smuggling to lessen which would result in more tax money.

I think that the colonists believed that the laws were "intolerable" because the important thing in their lives were either taken or changed. Also their private homes were taken by soldiers.

Why did Parliament pass the Intolerable Acts?

Parliament passed the Intolerable acts to punish Boston but it also affected the other colonists making them mad at Boston.

Why did Great Britian raise taxes in its American colonies?

Great Britain raised taxes in its American colonies because they still had to pay for the war with the French and had to pay for that standing army.

What message did the Boston Tea Party send to the British government?

The message that the Boston Tea Party sent to the British was that they wanted nothing to do with the British and they have had enough of their acts passed by Parliament.

Which method of protesting taxes do you think was most successful for colonist? Why?

The method of protesting taxes that I believe was the most successful was boycotting. Boycotting is more successful because it's more constant form of protest. Also the British couldn't force the colonists to buy British goods.
