They banned the apostles from preaching in Jesus' name, but they had no charges to arrest them or punish them. The apostles continued their mission to preach and heal in the name of Jesus. The Holy Spirit filled them with the courage to do so

-high priest asked Stephen if he was indeed blaspheming. Stephen told them the story of : 1) Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the twelve patriarchs and how Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery where he was eventually elevated into a high position in Pharaoh's court. 2)He went on to tell the story of Moses and how he was raised by Pharaoh's daughter as her son, but went out to help his own enslaved people, the children of Israel. However, the children of Israel rejected him. 3) Stephen then described how Moses, after raising a family, was confronted by God in the form of a burning bush and how He told Moses to go and deliver his people from Egypt, which Moses did. 4) Stephen told the story of how the children of Israel created a Golden Calf to worship during Moses' long absence. He accused the high priests of being as stubborn and full of unbelief as those who worshiped the Golden Calf.
Saul witnesses death of Stephen
32-34 Saul would become Paul, one of the most avid believers in the faith for which Stephen was martyred.
Ch 3: healing of a beggar
A beggar approaches them as they walk towards the temple gates, this was a man who had been crippled since birth. Peter told the man that he did not have anything of material value to give to him, but what he could give is the man's healing in the Jesus' name. He took the man's hand, and the bones that were once crippled immediately received strength.
Simon the Sorcerer
Acts 8 -Simon offered them money in exchange for their powers, but Peter rebuked him boldly for even suggesting such a thing. (tried to buy the Holy Spirit)
Anaias helps Saul
Ananias obeyed the Lord. He found Saul, put his hands on him, and Saul was filled with the Holy Ghost. It was then that Saul began to preach in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Stephen gets falsely accused
As Stephen began doing wonderful things, some people tried to argue with his message. - they bribed people to lie about him, saying that he cursed God and Moses. Stephen was brought to the High Council where the false witnesses testified against him.

Saul struggles for credibility
Everybody was amazed by this sudden change in Saul. The Jews plotted to kill him and some of the apostles did not trust him because of his past. They thought it was a trick so he could harm them. -Barnabas, however, took him to the apostles and vouched for him because he believed that Jesus had truly changed Saul

Jesus speaks to SAUL
He then told him to go to the city and he would know what he was supposed to do once he got there. Saul did as he was told and he remained sightless for three days as a result of that bright light. He did not eat nor drink during that time either. aul was one of Jesus' most determined enemies. If such a person saw Jesus, surely his testimony would be especially significant. Saul had no motive whatever to claim to see Jesus alive and every reason to deny the resurrection. But we have significant testimony to consider that demonstrates that He really did see Jesus alive. After his conversion, Saul became the apostle Paul who wrote many New Testament books. significance : he could see dark to light he could now come to terms once his sight was restored that Jesus existed
pivotal moment of chapter 1
Jesus ascends to heaven. The apostles watch Him as they stand around looking up into the sky, two men dressed in white ask them why they are standing around. They tell the apostles that Jesus will one day return the same way that He left.
Gamieal defends the Apostles
Jewish leaders, Gamaliel, stating that the apostles should be freed to spread their teachings. He proclaimed that if they were wrong, their campaign would fail of its own accord. If true, even their deaths would not stop its advancement through the presence of God.

Phillip and the Eunuch
On one of Philip's journeys, he met an Ethiopian eunuch riding a chariot. Philip noticed he was also reading from the Book of Isaiah. He asked the eunuch if he understood what he was reading. When the eunuch asked for his help, Philip jumped in the chariot with him and told him about Jesus. When the chariot passed near a stream of water, the eunuch asked to be baptized and Philip obliged, just before the Spirit of God whisked him away.
The effect of the death of S and A in Chapter 5
People recognized God's power and began professing their belief in Him. But as the number of baptisms grew across the land, Jewish officials were displeased with the apostles and their refusal to stop preaching about Jesus.

Peter and John
Peter speaks to the crowd
Peter informed the crowd that this occurrence was predicted by the prophet Joel. Joel said that God would relay his message to all people in the final days. - spoke on Jesus and the many miracles he performed and how He was put to death by "the hands of lawless men."
Peter Heals Mary
Peter traveled on a mission to visit with many churches. - Along the way, he healed a man in Lydda, named Aeneas, who was sick with palsy. Those who saw Peter's healings began to believe in the Lord. Peter did other miracles in Acts Chapter 9, including raising a woman named Tabitha from the dead in Joppa.
After Stephen's death, great persecution scattered the church where?
Samaria and Judaea. Philip, for instance, preached and did miracles in Samaria and there were many people there who listened attentively to him.

Sapphira and Ananias offering the apostles a sum of money that they had received from selling their land. T -These two individuals decided to donate just a portion of the money and retain some for themselves without telling anybody.
Stephen is stoned to death
Stephen's words only served to make the high priests even angrier. They physically attacked Stephen. (He saw Jesus) The mob cast Stephen out of the city where he is then stoned to death. As the stones pummeled him, he called on Jesus to receive his spirit. The last thing he did was ask God to forgive the sin of his killers.

Stephen- He was known for his wisdom and also for presenting himself as someone who was filled with the Holy Spirit.

The choice was between Barsabbas and Matthias. The latter was chosen after the apostles cast lots.
Ch 3 : peter preaches to the temple
The people were so amazed at the sight that they crowded around John and Peter. Peter took this opportunity to preach about Christ. He told the people that the man was not healed because of any power he had, but that he was healed only through the power of Christ. -Says you must not be wicked and change your ways and turn to God
Apostles sent to Prison
The religious leaders decided to throw some of the apostles in prison. -During their first night of incarceration, they were visited by an angel who freed them from their cells. -the apostles were once again caught preaching in a temple. -The High Council demanded an explanation for their actions. Peter explained that they must obey God before man. This infuriated members of the council who demanded the death penalty for this insurrection.
