frontal = controls voluntary movement, speech, intellect, personality, conscious thought occipital = receives visual information temporal = receives auditory information parietal lobe = receives information about Taste, Touch, Temperature, Pain, Pressure

What is the function of the medulla oblongata?

connects PNS & CNS; coordinates functions of autonomic nervous system (heart rate, breathing, coughing, swallowing, etc).

What is the corpus callosum? (not curricular)

connects hemispheres; allows them to communicate

What is the function of the hypothalamus?

controls endocrine system; regulates secretions of pituitary; produces ADH & oxytocin; controls body temperature; allows us to feel hunger, thirst, aggression, rage, pleasure, etc.

What is the function of the cerebellum?

controls muscle coordination and balance

What is the function of the cerebrum?

receives & processes sensory information, memory storage, complex thinking, personality.

What is the function of the pons?

relay station between hemispheres AND cerebellum/medulla; helps medulla regulate breathing
