Amazon interview
a time i have showed ownership
Creating BLAC
strengths and weaknesses
I don't shy away from big problems because it's been ingrained in me through my Nigerian culture and values that you don't quit, you don't stop til it's done. Some people think that's toxic but I think it is my biggest strength. Because I was taught to be persevering when I fail I dont have a hard time bouncing back and proposing new alternatives. My biggest weaknesses is understanding that work and school are not mutually exclusive from spending time with my friends and family. I am lucky enough to have a support system that has invested so much time and energy in to me and honestly I am lucky enough to have a family that constantly brings me happiness and peace. I tend to push away my biggest fans and support system in times of stress even though I wouldnt be where I am today without them
Why the switch from public policy to finance analyst?
I have always been super passionate about a lot of things so coming into my freshmen year I took a wide range of classes and thats why I have a major and two minors. I have always been super interested in advocacy and giving a voice to the voiceless so that why I decided to pursue governmental work this past summer but I realized through my time as vice president of diversity and inclusion that what I like more is looking at data seeing how I can make it better and coming up with plans and tasks to get the results I want.
What is your favorite leaderhsip principle
I really resignate with all of Amazons leadership principles but my favorite would have to be think big. I don't shy away from big problems because it's been ingrained in me through my Nigerian culture and values that you don't quit, you don't stop til it's done. Some people think that's toxic but I think it has gotten me to where I am today. Because I learned perseverant at such a young age, its easy for me hard worker and I hustle until I achieve my big goals.
Is there anything you would like me to know about yourself
Me and my cousins and siblings started an organization called Ka IWE Alliance. where we fundraise and send books to nigeria in order to raise awareness about the problems with illiteracy in Edo State. Our goal for collecting 2,021 books for the year 2021 fell short by 47 books. Over the course of 2021, we were able to collect 1,974 total new books. We will add them to the books we collected last year, and send them off to their eventual new readers and owners. There is no financial incentive so we dont necessarily analyze much and just do this in our free time but I wanted to take this time to spread awareness about the illiteracy in nigeria.

Elevator pitch
My name is Jennifer Ngo and I grew up in Toledo Ohio. Because I was raised in a family business and have been working since I was eight years old I have been immersed in business and company culture. Ever since I can literally remember I have been passionate about the intersectionality between business success and customer satisfaction. I have been indoctrinated with the mindset of analyzing customer satisfaction and it almost feels inseparable from who I am. All throughout my formalized educational career I have been a prominent student athlete, activist and advocate. I am currently a junior Economics major at Case Western Reserve University where I also minor in Spanish and Public Policy. I am currently on the collegiate Women's volleyball team where I devote 20+ hours a week to my sport and I was also elected by my undergraduate student body to serve as the president for diversity and inclusion where I look at demographical data, analyze it and then complete initiatives that lesson the burden and provide representation for all marginalized students. When I think of the clubs and extracurriculars that I am involved in and what I have contributed to my campus and community, I have realized that I thrive when there's pressure and people depending on me. I love taking risks and have always been a data-driven, business-minded, results-oriented person but on a much smaller scale throughout my educational career and childhood but I would like to do that on a global broad scale at Amazon. Other than that I am super excited to be here and am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to be interviewed today so thank you for your time.
why amazon?
Other than the fact that I order from amazon at least 5 times a week and am very valued as a customer. I am super impressed with the business philosophy. Never forgetting about who the customer is, and thinking long term. Amazon is one of the leading global online retailing companies with 136 bn USD Net Sales and is 2nd on the Fortune 500. In the past four years it has doubled its sales. It is such a fast growing company and a pioneer in the internet retail sector is a place I'd like to work and learn from to develop my career. I feel like I have always been a data-driven, business-minded, results-oriented financial analyst but on a much smaller scale. Throughout my time as a server, an athlete and working at my family business I have thoroughly enjoyed diving deep and staying connected to details with data to see how exactly I can improve. I have developed passion and curiosity to learn and understand consumer behavior and create marketing strategies to delight customers but I would love to take what I have learned and apply it to a successful global business. I know that it is really about putting yourself in the shoes of the consumer to win their trust and confidence and I would have a chance to do that on a broad scale at Amazon.
Talk about a time I have had to be resourcefull
When I had an internship in washington dc it was critical that i found a place to live that had a gym or was near a gym. I was offered somewhere to live through a program where they would pay for me to live there. I knew I couldnt turn down this 5000 dollar saving option. I decided that I would learn how to navigate the metro and commit to a gym that was fur miles away from my living situation. When I got there I actually ended up getting a membership at the capitol hill gym which had a huge intern discount for 20 $ a month. This allowed for networking at the gym and for me to be in the best shape pf my life.
