What is a molecule ?

A molecule is two or more atoms joined together by a chemical bond. They can be represented using a formula e.g. Hydrogen is H₂ and water is H₂O.

What is an atom ?

An atom is the basic unit of matter. They can be represented by using a symbol e.g. Iron is Fe

What are compounds made out of ?

Compounds are made out of two or more different types of atom. They CAN be broken down into simpler substances.

What does diatomic mean ?

Diatomic is the name given to a substance if it's molecules contain two atoms joined by a COVELANT BOND.

What are elements made out of ?

Elements are made out of only one type of atom. They CANNOT be brocken down into anything simpler.
