Blended Learning
iNACOL
An international nonprofit transforming education to student-centered learning. They catalyze the transformation of K-12 education policy and practice to advance powerful, personalized, learner-centered experiences through competency-based, blended and online learning.
ISTE Standards for Teachers
Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity, design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments, model digital age work and learning, promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility, and engage in professional growth and leadership.
Flex
Students move on fluid schedules among learning activities according to their needs. Online learning is the backbone of student learning in this model. Teachers provide support and instruction on an as-needed basis while students work through course curriculum and content.
Station Rotation
Students rotate through stations on a fixed schedule, where at least one of the stations is an online learning station.
Lab Rotation
Students rotate through stations on a fixed schedule. Online learning occurs in a dedicated computer lab, allowing for flexible scheduling arrangements with teachers and other paraprofessionals, and enables schools to make use of existing computer labs.
Individual Rotation
Students rotate through stations, but on individual schedules set by a teacher. Students do not necessarily rotate to every station; they rotate only to the activities scheduled on their playlists.
Enriched Virtual
An alternative to full-time online school that allows students to complete the majority of coursework online at home or outside of school, but attend school for required face-to-face learning sessions with a teacher.
Blended Learning
A mix of technology and face-to-face instruction. It's about creating a flexible space where teachers leverage tools to engage students in a truly personalized learning experience.
ISTE Standards for Students
Empowered learner, digital citizen, knowledge constructor, innovative designer, computational thinker, creative communicator, global collaborator.
A La Carte
Enables students to take an online course with an online teacher, as well as other face-to-face courses, which often provides students with more flexibility over their schedules. This model can be a great option when schools can't provide particular learning opportunities, such as an Advanced Placement or elective course.

Flipped Classroom
Students learn at home via online coursework and lectures, and teachers use class time for teacher-guided practice or projects. This model enables teachers to use class time for more than delivering traditional lectures.
