Cessationists

A belief that the sign gifts were originally intended to authenticate the ministry of the apostles and first Christians, but once the canon of Scripture was established, the sign gifts were no longer necessary.

Interpretation of languages

A natural parallel to the gift of different languages and is the special ability to interpret the utterance from an individual who is using the gift of different languages.

Pastor/teacher

A special ability to study and communicate the Bible to others in a way that is systematic and ordered.

Faith

A special ability to trust God for mighty things.

Evangelist

A unique burden to proclaim the good news of the gospel to the unsaved and to lead the unsaved to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Giving

An individual who has a unique burden to give of one's resources (time, money, ability) for the use and advancement of the church.

Prophecy

Evidenced through the direct and unwavering proclamation of the word of God, and in addition to the occasional foretelling of future events, is evidenced in edifying, rebuking, correcting, and instructing the church.

Different languages

Often referred to as the "gift of tongues" and is a special language or utterance that is unintelligible to the individual speaking, or is the special ability to speak a foreign language.

The special ability to miraculously heal individuals of physical illnesses and disease.

Managing

The special ability to organize and plan as related to people and tasks especially in relationship to the functioning of the church.

Helping

The special ability to serve others and to help the weak without the need of recognition or attention.

Apostles

Those specifically appointed by Christ to be a "sent one" (literal translation of the word). Apostles hold a level of recognition and authority within the church as being specially appointed by Christ.
