Protoevangelium
A term that means "the first gospel". Found in Genesis and was when God revealed he would send a Savior to redeem the world from its sins.
The Fall
Fall from grace. When Adam and Eve ate the fruit and original sin was made. Where sin came from.
Enmity
Feeling or being opposed or hostile to someone or something
God's image and likeness
Humans are created in God's image and likeness. We have corporal (bodily) and spiritual aspects. God "breathed life" into us during creation.
Man and Woman
Man and Woman are equal and complementary. God made man and woman last they were the jewels of his creation.
Original Sin
The fallen state of human nature into which all generations of people are born. Christ Jesus came to save us from Original Sin.
Adam and Eve
The first humans God made. He made them from clay and breathed life into them. Eve was made form Adam's rib. They disobeyed God and were tempted. Cause of original sin.
Garden of Eden/ Paradise
The land where Adam and Eve lived before sin. It was like a paradise and everything was perfect and good.
Effects of Original Sin
The pains of childbirth, back-breaking work to make a living, shame as a result of nakedness, and death
Original Justice and Original Holiness
The state of man and woman before sin
Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil
The tree that God commanded them not to eat the fruit of.
