Red Arrow

A red arrow means "STOP." Remain stopped until the green signal or green arrow appears. Do not turn against a red arrow.

Yellow Arrow

The "protected" turning time period is ending. Be prepared to obey the next signal

A green arrow showing a red light means:

Yield to vehicles and pedestrians, then proceed carefully

[Lane Signals] Red X

You must NEVER drive here. It means that the lane is closed and you must leave the lane to make way for oncoming traffic.

Flashing Yellow

slow down and proceed with caution

Red light

It means to stop. You cannot proceed until the light is green. A right turn on a red light can be made ONLY after you stop and yield. You can't turn if there is a sign that states, "NO TURN ON RED" You may turn left on a red light from a one-way street onto another if there is no sign prohibiting you.

[Lane Signals] Green Arrow

It means you can driver in that lane

[Lane Signals] Yellow X

Means that you lane signal is about to change Red. Prepare to leave the lane safely.

Flashing Red

Means the same as a STOP sign: Stop, yield the right-of-way, and go when it is safe.

Green light

Means to proceed with caution. You must first let any vehicles, bicycles, or pedestrians remaining to proceed before you move ahead. You may only take a left turn if you have enough space to complete the turn before any oncoming vehicle, bicycle, or pedestrian becomes a hazard. Left-turning vehicles must ALWAYS yield to vehicles traveling straight.

Yellow light

Prepare to stop; when you see the yellow light, you should stop if it can be done so safely. If you can't stop watch out for vehicles that may enter the intersection when the light changes.

Green Arrow

Protected turn/go in direction of arrow

Traffic Signal Blackout

The traffic signal light is not working. Proceed cautiously as if the intersection is controlled by "STOP" signs in all directions. It must be treated as a four-way intersection.
