A job that is taking things from the earth or from animals: farming/mining/hunting/fishing
Tertiary sector of the economy
A job that provides services to its consumers: waitress/teacher/nurse/pilot/McDonald's worker
Secondary sector of the economy
A job that takes raw materials from the earth and transforms them into goods we use: factory workers who turn cotton into shirts
Quinary sector of the economy
A job where high-level decisions are made by top-level executives in the government, industry, business, education, media and nonprofit organizations: CEO/President
Developing Country
Examples: India, Rwanda Countries with low quality or no healthcare, bad job markets, little to no infrastructure, and very little access to technology or modern-day conveniences Poor Countries
Developed Country
Examples: USA, Australia Countries with access to healthcare, jobs, infrastructure, technology/internet Rich countries

Infant Mortality Rate
Gives us the ratio of babies that died out of the number of births that year. For example: 50 births occurred but 2 of those 50 died so your IM would be: 2 deaths/50 births
Standard of Living
the degree of wealth and material comfort available to a person or community.
Literacy Rate
the percentage of people who are able to read and write vs those who are not.
Life Expectancy
How long most people are expected to live in a certain country.
