A photon is an elementary particle, the quantum of the electromagnetic field including electromagnetic radiation such as light, and the force carrier for the electromagnetic force

visible light

Electromagnetic radiation in this range of wavelengths is called visible light or simply light. A typical human eye will respond to wavelengths from about 390 to 700 nm. In terms of frequency, this corresponds to a band in the vicinity of 430-770 THz.

Polarized light waves are light waves in which the vibrations occur in a single plane.

photoelectric effect

The photoelectric effect or photo emission is the emission of electrons or other free carriers when light is shone onto a material.

electromagnetic radiation

a kind of radiation including visible light, radio waves, gamma rays, and X-rays, in which electric and magnetic fields vary simultaneously.

radio waves

an electromagnetic wave of a frequency between about 104 and 1011 or 1012 Hz, as used for long-distance communication.
