Adverbs (adverbial phrases)

• An adverb can tell how, when, where, in what manner or extent an action is performed. • Adverbs usually modify a verb or adjective and usually end in -ly. or other adverb or a word group, expressing a relation of place, time, circumstance, manner, cause, degree, etc. (e.g., gently, quite, then, there )
