Smoke Testing

Smoke Testing is a software testing process that determines whether the deployed software build is stable or not. Smoke testing is a confirmation for QA team to proceed with further software testing. It consists of a minimal set of tests run on each build to test software functionalities. Smoke testing is also known as "Build Verification Testing" or "Confidence Testing."

A feature file has the extension .feature

What is a Test Environment?

A testing environment is a setup of software and hardware for the testing teams to execute test cases. In other words, it supports test execution with hardware, software and network configured.

Ad hoc Testing

Ad hoc Testing is an informal or unstructured software testing type that aims to break the testing process in order to find possible defects or errors at an early possible stage. Ad hoc testing is done randomly and it is usually an unplanned activity which does not follow any documentation and test design techniques to create test cases.

Apache Maven is a software project management and build management tool for Java Frameworks.

What is BDD?

BDD or Behavior-driven development is a process of developing software based on TDD (Test Driven Development) which focuses on the behavioral specification of software testing units.

What is Backend Testing?

Backend Testing is a testing method that checks the server side or database of web applications or a software. The purpose of backend testing is to test the application layer or database layer to ensure that the web application or software is free from database defects like deadlock, data corruption or data loss.

Why log4j

By going through the logs you will understand exactly where the script failed Whenever you log something it's good practice to have timestamp so the developer can know what time the error occurred so when he runs his developer logs he knows Client might ask for logs before release t is an open source With Log4j, it is possible to store the flow details of our Selenium Automation in a file or databases Log4j is used for large as well as small projects In Log4j, we use log statements rather than SOPL statements in the code to know the status of a project while it is executing

What is Chrome Dev Tools?

Chrome DevTools is a set of web developer tools built directly into the Google Chrome browser With Chrome DevTools, developers have deeper access to the Applications which render on browser

What Is Cucumber?

Cucumber is a Behavior Driven Development (BDD) tool. Cucumber is a tool that executes plain-text functional descriptions as automated tests. The language that Cucumber understands is called Gherkin. In BDD, users (business analysts, product owners) first write scenarios or acceptance tests that describes the behavior of the system from the customer's perspective, for review and sign-off by the product owners before developers write their codes.

When is Cucumber used in real time?

Cucumber tool is generally used in real time to write acceptance tests for an application. It is generally used by non-technical people such as Business Analysts, Functional Testers etc.

What Does Feature File Consist Of?

Feature file in cucumber consist of parameters or conditions required for executing code, they are: · Feature · Scenario · Scenario Outline · Given · When · Then

What language is used by Cucumber?

Gherkin is the language that is used by the Cucumber tool. It is a simple English representation of the application behavior. Gherkin language uses several keywords to describe the behavior of application such as Feature, Scenario, Scenario Outline, Given, When, Then etc.

What are the various keywords that are used in Cucumber for writing a scenario?

Given When Then And

What are the two files which you need to run a Cucumber test scenario?

If you want to execute a Cucumber test, then make sure it has the following two files. 1- A feature file. 2- A step definition file.

What is Jenkins?

Jenkins is a continuous integration tool which is primarily developed for automation

What is log4j

Log4j is a logging framework and Logging is the best practice for automated tests

What is Maven?

Maven is an automation and management tool developed by Apache Software Foundation

What Page Object Model

Page Object Model (POM) is a design pattern, popularly used in test automation that creates Object Repository for web UI elements. The advantage of the model is that it reduces code duplication and improves test maintenance.

What is Regression Testing?

Regression Testing is defined as a type of software testing to confirm that a recent program or code change has not adversely affected existing features. Regression Testing is nothing but a full or partial selection of already executed test cases which are re-executed to ensure existing functionalities work fine. This testing is done to make sure that new code changes should not have side effects on the existing functionalities. It ensures that the old code still works once the latest code changes are

What are Extent Reports?

Reports for Frameworks tests

What is Selenium Grid?

Selenium Grid is a smart proxy server that makes it easy to run tests in parallel on multiple machines.

What is System Testing?

System Testing is a level of testing that validates the complete and fully integrated software product. The purpose of a system test is to evaluate the end-to-end system specifications. Usually, the software is only one element of a larger computer-based system. Ultimately, the software is interfaced with other software/hardware systems. System Testing is actually a series of different tests whose sole purpose is to exercise the full computer-based system.

What is TestNG and what are the features?

TestNG is a testing framework Xml file is the heart of TestNG Controlling Testcase executions form Testing XML files TestNG Annotations You can define multiple tests from single class · You can modularize test cases based upon functionality and trigger them accordingly · Global environment variables can be incorporated into selenium · Parameterizing with multiple data sets by running tests with multiple combinations TestNG listeners in testing framework

What are ChromeDevTools Protocol (CDP)?

The Chrome DevTools Protocol provides tools to instrument, inspect, debug, and profile Chromium, Chrome, and other blink-based browsers. Selenium 4 Introduces powerful command which are wrapper around the CDP Domains to grant access to Chrome DevTools directly from your automated tests With this CDP support selenium open the possibilities of out of the box testing with the complete access and control to the browser features within the Test.

What is Selenium Grid Architecture?

The request will first go to this router ● Router will ask distributor to create a new session and assign it to the physical machine ● Distributor will read the properties and decide what physical machine is the right one ● Distributor will send a request to the node to execute your client code ● Everytime you create a new session the session will have an id ● Distributor will provide which physical machine I assigned the machine to ● For the first time the distributor will help but once the router knows the session id and assigned machine it will directly talk to the node

What is Unit Testing?

UNIT TESTING is a type of software testing where individual units or components of a software are tested. The purpose is to validate that each unit of the software code performs as expected. Unit Testing is done during the development (coding phase) of an application by the developers. Unit Tests isolate a section of code and verify its correctness. A unit may be an individual function, method, procedure, module, or object.

What is UAT?

User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is a type of testing performed by the end user or the client to verify/accept the software system before moving the software application to the production environment. UAT is done in the final phase of testing after functional, integration and system testing is done.

What are the advantages of Cucumber?

We can involve business stakeholders who cannot code · End-user experience is a priority · Style of writing tests allow for easier reuse of code in the tests · Allows quick and easy setup and execution

Selenium WebDriver Architecture?

· After you trigger the Test, complete Selenium code (Client) which we have written will be converted to Json format · Generated Json is sent to Browser Driver (Server) through http Protocol Note: Each browser contains a separate browser driver · . Browser drivers communicate with its respective browser and executes the commands by interpreting Json which It received on the browser. · Browser Driver receives responses back from the browser and it sends Json response back to Client.

What you can do with Chrome Dev Tools

· Capture, Monitor and Stub the network requests and responses · Inject Session Cookies and Perform basic Auth · Mock Device Coordinates for Mobile/Tabs view · Check and monitor the sits performance · Mock geolocations of the user · Block the Network requests · Mock faster/slower networks speeds · Execute and debug JavaScript · View Console logs
