Arthritis

a condition characterized by pain, swelling, stiffness, and redness in the joints. Also known as inflammation of a joint or joints

Diabetes Type 1

a condition related to blood sugar in which those who suffer from it are dependent on insulin

Diabetes Type 2

a condition related to blood sugar in which those who suffer from it are not dependent on insulin

Hypoglycemia

a condition resulting in an abnormally low level of sugar in the blood

Genetic disorder

a disease or condition caused primarily by a defect or defects in the inherited, genetic material within a person's genes

Arteriosclerosis

a disease where certain arteries become hardened and obstructed, eventually limiting or stopping the flow of blood to certain organs of the body. Also known as hardening of the arteries

Diabetes mellitus

a disease where the body cannot properly utilize the glucose that it needs

Degeneration

a lowing of effective powering, vitality, or essential quality to a worsened kind or state

Alzheimer's disease

a progressive condition in which nerve cells in the brain degenerate and the brain loses its ability to function

Biopsy

a test to diagnose cancer. A microscopic examination of tissue cells

Birth defects

abnormalities obvious at birth or detectable early in infancy

Noninfectious disease (non-communicable)

disease caused by heredity, the environment, and a person's lifestyle and are not passed from one person to another

Congenital

genetic disorders that are evident at birth

Tumor

groups of abnormal cells that may grow quickly and form masses of cells

Hypertension

high blood pressure
