Flo and Eddie
After Zappa hired them, began employing gross and sophomoric lyrics and reformed Mothers w/ Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan in 1969. Contractual reasons had to go by Flo & Eddie.

Not a part of the London blues scene in early 60s. Used Synclavier to explore computer-based music. often made recordings by splicing together snippets of different tapes and adding overdubs.

Wrote "One flew over the cuckoo's nest" began sharing acid w/his friends The Merry Pranksters at parties called "acid tests"
The Mothers of Invention
Zappa joined the Soul Giants, which he renamed the Mothers in 1965. Signed MGM in 1965, who insisted on adding "of invention" to "Mothers"
Owsley
chesmist/acid activist Augustus Owsley Stanley III, or simply "Bear". 65-67 prime caterer of the Bay Area drug culture, produced over 1 million hits of acid in his lab.
