Thomas Hooker -clergyman,seeking independence for Puritans Anna Hutchinson-Spiritual Advisor,against gender roles, Roger Williams-Puritan minister,founder of Rhode Island,advocated for the separation of the Church.

Claimed by William Penn made a much more experiment including religion. Secured a royal charter in Pennsylvania. The idea of representative govt, religious liberty, a current system for available land made ready. Traded with the Caribbean successfully and treated the Native Americans fairly and united them with society.
Discuss the problems of the Jamestown colony in the early years. What roles did John Smith and John Rolfe play in saving the Jamestown colony?
Early on in the summer, the river surrounding Jamestown sent out killer waves. John Smith was a captain not able to do anything but help with survival. He also created a ritual performance that was well-liked for Powhatans to create a bond and trade. He later failed due to many reasons. John Rolfe cleaned up everything and had the colony produce cash crops. And then grew things but most of Jamestown was already destroyed.

European men were dominated over women in the ratio of 5:1 but when the population became more self-reliant. Life spans became longer as more people started to figure out how to take care of themselves properly. A lot of Men didn't get married until they were done with work so they could focus. And women had children out of wedlock.

What was a conversion experience?
It was a thing to see if you had a sick soul and to then have the person become religious and have something puzzling to Puritans. Because they thought you should be religious at heart not because a conversion said so.

James Duke of York obtained land from his brother to get this. New York took over Long Island, tried to make a represented government. As the dutch assimilated the English culture.

Puritans were extremely healthy compared to the European norm, many kids reached maturity and left most diseases behind when they restarted away from England. Fathers didn't like to give land away to sons until after death, they avoided slavery, not because of any feelings towards it but it would go against their religion. Puritans believed that you should have a bond with God in order to redeem self for their sin. They believed only chosen people would be saved by God and anyone else would be doomed.

Richard Hakluyt (he makes a story of a Virginia that there was just gold and riches soon to be found that was a lie, people came to find wealth and go back home but they were lied to) was a conquistador with slowing down Spain's massive profits and offered advice for successful colonization. And second of all Sir Humphery Gilbert who carried the colonization model over the Atlantic ocean. Helping the first step in building a colonial empire in America.

Similarities between them were the used forms of labor and trade for their economy. Differences between them are French colonialism has more religious tolerance, warmer climates, high-quality government. While Spanish colonial cruel, intense slavery, used the war to colonize.

The English tried different tactics with all three places and most of them represented different classes and religions.
Who settled the Plymouth colony and why?
The Pilgrims but not purposely the ship was blown off their path and instead of Virginia they ended up in Cape Cod.
Why did the West Indies transition to slavery? What bought about the rise of slavery in North America?
The West indies transitioned because of the more needed work done for the Englishmen. They came to settle, colonize, and produce cash crops and needed slaves to carry out the work. In North America sugar became valuable and the sugar needed manual labor to produce so slaves dominated it.
