You are based in ORD (Central time zone) and you are beginning an FDP in LAX at 0430 with 5 flight segments scheduled. What is the maximum length (hours) FDP you may work?

11.5hrs

You report for duty at 0500 (domicile time) and fly 4 flight segments finishing at 1615 (domicile time.) Crew support then informs you that they need you to deadhead to LAX to start a new trip the next day. The flight to LAX is 1hr and 30 min long, can you legally accept this assignment?

12hr FDP - 0500 to 1700. Yes, can accept assignment. However, deadhead does not count for rest period. Must be afforded 10hrs of rest prior to start of new trip.

Determine your maximum FDP (hours) with a domicile report time of 0700 and 4 flight segments. You finish the 4th flight segment at 1745 (domicile time) and crew support calls to inform you that you need to ferry the plane (under part 91) to KSLC for maintenance. You would be released from duty at 2015 (domicile time). Can you accept this assignment? Why or why not?

13hrs FDP 0700 + 13hrs = 2000 No, you cannot schedule yourself to exceed FDP limitations. Would this added part 91 flight add another segment? Limiting to 12.5hrs? Either way, cannot accept.
