All parts of mass produced goods are the same. You can buy just a part to replace it instead of making the whole product. Owning things becomes cheaper.

Before 1840 there were 2 English cities larger than 100,000. By 1910 there were 48 cities larger than 100,000.
Division of labor
Each person performed a separate function of work instead of making the whole product.
Housing in cities
It sprang up quickly to meet demand. Often crowded slums.
Safety
It usually was dangerous. If a worker got hurt they were replaced.
Large corperations
Large businesses replaced small businesses as machines got bigger and more expensive.
Working day
Long and exhausting due to plenty of workers.
Mass production
Production of goods in large quantities to reduce price and increase quality.
Banks
They increasingly become an important part of society. They supply the loans to grow businesses.
Automation
Using machines that run on separate power sources to produce goods. People make machines run smoothly instead of making the actual good.
Assembly line
Workers stationed along a conveyor belt each assembling a separate part of the product.
