. Both hands have the handshape of the number 1. They move together to your left, away from your body. If your dominant hand is your left hand, then you'll move them to your right.
movies
The non-dominant hand is in the shape of the number 5 with fingers together. The dominant hand is also in the shape of the number 5. However, the fingers are apart. Both are located in center space. The heel of the dominant hand rests on the palm of the non-dominant hand right about where the index finger connects to the palm of the hand. Then the dominant hand moves back and forth. Think of the flickering light a projector makes.
cooking
The sign for cook or cooking uses both hands in center space with the handshape of the number 5. Fingers are together. The sign begins with palms touching. The dominant hand flips over and touches the palm of the non-dominant hand with the backside of the fingers. Do this motion again to end the sign with the palms touching. This movement is like you're flipping over a burger in a frying pan.
day
The sign for day has the non-dominant arm across the body in center space with the palm facing down. The elbow of the dominant hand rests on the back of the non-dominant hand and then moves down. The handshape of the dominant hand is the number 1 with the palm facing inward.
football (2 variations)
The sign for football reminds me of a huddle. Both hands are in the shape of the number 5 located in center space. The palms are facing each other. Hook the fingers together twice. It's like you're tapping them together at the point where the fingers connect to the hand. Sometimes you'll see the gesture of throwing a football.
read
The sign for read or reading is made with both hands also. The handshape for the dominant hand is the number 2. The non-dominant hand is in the shape of the number 5 with fingers together. Both hands are in center space. The dominant hand moves down the non-dominant hand. Think of two eyes scanning the page of a book.
study
The sign for study or studying is similar to read except the dominant hand has the handshape of the number 5. The non-dominant hand is in center space just like the sign for read. Wiggle the fingers of the dominant hand. In some variations, you'll see the hand move back and forth just a tiny bit.
watching tv
The sign for watch or watching is made with a modified L hand. This means your hand makes the letter L, but the tip of your index finger is bent. While your hand is in this shape, place the tip of your index finger just below your eye on your cheek. Your palm is facing inward. Then pull it away about six inches. The sign for TV is easy—just fingerspell T-V.
restaurant
The sign restaurant is an initialized sign. This means the handshape of your dominant hand is the letter R. It's located at your mouth with the top of the R at the corner. You'll start the sign on the opposite side of your dominant hand. If your dominant hand is your left hand, then it's located on the right side of your mouth. If your dominant hand is your right hand, then it's located on the left. The movement is a downward motion at each corner of your mouth.
today
The sign today has a few more features to it. First, both hands are used. Second, there are two signs that are commonly used. The handshape for both hands is the letter Y. The palms face up. Your palms should be located in center space about waist level. The hands move up and then down twice. The second sign for today is a combination of the signs now and day. It begins with the same aspects as the first version. You begin with both hands at your waist in the shape of the letter Y.
year
This sign uses two hands as well. Both are in the handshape of the letter S. They're located in center space and move around each other.
dislike (2 variations)
You begin this sign by signing like. After you've completed the sign like, you move your hand away from your chest. You'll turn your hand outward so your palm faces away from you. It ends with your middle finger and thumb apart. There's a variation to the sign dislike. Often you'll see the signs not like since they mean the same thing. You already know the sign for not. You'll just add the sign like to complete the phrase dislike or don't like.
month
You'll use the handshape of the number 1. The non-dominant hand is held upright in center space with the palm facing out. The palm of the dominant hand faces in. It begins by touching the tip of the finger of the non-dominant hand. Then it moves down the back of the finger
read a book

The handshape of both hands is the number 5 with the fingers together. Place them in center space with your palms touching. Then open them up so your palms are now facing up.
basketball
In the sign for basketball, you're getting ready to make a basket.
to like
In the sign like, your index finger and thumb are in the shape of the number 8 except your finger and thumb don't make contact as they do in the sign for the number 8. They are apart. The tips of them touch your chest. Your palm faces inward. Now move your hand straight out. When your hand reaches center space, your middle finger and thumb touch. As you make this sign, be sure to add a happy expression.
tomorrow
In the sign tomorrow, the a handshape is used. Now the palm faces toward your face. The sign begins about an inch below your earlobe and moves forward (like you're giving a thumbs up next to your face)
yesterday
In the sign yesterday, the handshape is the letter A with the thumb extended. Your palm faces out. The sign begins at your chin and moves up your jawline back toward your ear

in the sign fishing, you're mimicking the action of holding a fishing pole and trying to hook a fish. The sign moves twice in this way

use both hands. They both have the same handshape, which is unique. Your index finger and little finger are raised. The rest of your fingers are closed. The fingertips touch each other with palms facing inward. Think of the shape of a tent. Pull the hands apart and downward for the motion
