Historically, milk baths have been enjoyed by dignitaries for centuries. Elizabeth I of England, Elisabeth of Bavaria, and Cleopatra herself touted the beautifying effects of bathing in milk.Throughout history, these baths were made with sour milk scented with essential oils, and while our Milky Bath Bubble Bar features a bright, uplifting blend of patchouli and orange essential oils, we opted for soy milk over sour! We've also incorporated a cocoa butter cap and fair trade olive oil to provide a nourishing bath fit for a Queen (or King, or both- ooh)! Soya oil has a rich, moisturizing texture that leaves the skin feeling velvety and plump. Traditional milk baths relied upon the lactic acid in the milk to provide the same effect, but by using soya milk powder we've found a way to create a vegan alternative.
Synthetic Pigments
In the United States, colors for cosmetics must be specially pre-approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration. This is why you often see the letters FD&C (meaning suitable for food, drug and cosmetics), followed by a color and number designation. Some colors simply cannot be reproduced or achieved using only natural colors, and so we use these vegetarian pigments as a supplement to achieve a full pallet of color.Any product containing vibrant pigments has the potential to stain the skin temporarily. If and when customers touch or play with a bath product as it's dissolving and wind up looking like they've been finger-painting as a result, reassure them that the color is safe, harmless and will simply fade away
