Findings
Children distorted information by changing the sex of the actor in the sex-inconsistent photos.
Method
Children shown pictures depicting males and females performing sex-consistent and sex-inconsistent activities. One week later they had to recall the activities and the gender of the actors. Free-recall and probed recall were used. One measure looked at traditional roles of males and females while another measure looked at preference of roles and objects sex-typed. Children were aged 5-6. 48 children
