Dividing Fractions by Fractions
To divide fractions by fractions simply multiply the first fraction by the inverse of the second fraction. 6/7 ÷ 3/7 = 6/7 x 7/3
Dividing Whole Numbers by Fractions
Two numbers are reciprocals if their product is 1. The numerators and denominators are switched in fractions that are reciprocals. To divide by a fraction, multiply by the reciprocal of the fraction. You can remember this by thinking "invert and multiply.
