Metadata
Used to describe other data, corresponds to the data put in the table (format of data, list of tables, restrictions, and consistency of data)
SAP trasaction

Analyzing
presenting lead information, or results from the lag information
Reporting
presents lag information that reflects past performances
Online Analytical Processing (OLAP)
refers to approaches to multidimensional data analysis which are used in business intelligence (star schema architecture, historical data and real-time data, calculated fields and redundant data)
Online Transactional Processing (OLTP)
refers to information systems that facilitate the entry and extraction of data for transactional purposes to support the daily operations of a company (simple queries, logical data, raw and real-time, no redundant data or calculated fields)
Information System
system that allows us to store, retrieve, and safeguard information
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
system that supports the core business of many large institutions
Infrastructure
technologies required to manage, extract, transform, organize data so it can be accessed by uders

transaction needed to change prices
Transactional Database

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
variable used to identify if the objective has been reached

Throughput
concerns the time it takes to process tasks and how many tasks can be processed at one time without the system slowing down
Summary Sales Report

Referential Integrity

Foreign key
an attribute of a table that is a primary key of the table it is linked to
