Deltoid
Controls majority of shoulder movement which enables arm to have free range of motion.
Triceps brachii muscle
Large muscle in the back of the upper arm that helps straighten the arm.
Latissimus dorsi
Large muscle in the back that is responsible for extension, abduction, and internal rotation of the shoulder joint.
Biceps brachii muscle
Large muscle on the upper arm that rests on top of humerus bone. Rotates forearm and also flexes the elbow .
Trapezius
Large muscle spread across neck shoulder and upper back that is used to tilt and turn the head and neck, shrug the shoulders, and twist the arms.
Sternocleidomastoid
Large neck muscle that helps rotate the head upwards and from side to side.
Brachioradialis
Located at the top of the forearm near elbow; helps rotate the forearm both outwardly and inwardly, and also flexes the forearm at the elbow.
Nasalis
Located within the nose that compresses nasal cartilages.
Masseter
Muscle closes the mouth by raising the jawbone.
Pectoralis major
Muscle in the chest area, used to control movement of the arm.
Teres major
Muscle located in upper arm that is used to rotate the upper arm internally.
Infraspinatus
Muscle of the rotator cuff, it helps rotate the joint the shoulder and the arm.
Platysma
Muscle of the upper chest and neck area, responsible for pulling down the lower face and mouth.
Risorius
Muscle that pulls corners of the mouth backwards
Temporalis
Muscle used for chewing.
Orbicularis oculi
Muscles around your eye that help you bat your eyes.
Orbicularis oris
Muscles around your mouth. Also known as kissing muscle because it allows your mouth to pucker.
Splenius
Neck muscle that is responsible for extending and rotating the head and neck.
Extensor carpi radialis longus
Next to brachioradialis that helps move wrist in multiple directions.
Mentalis
Paired muscle located at lower end of chin that acts as the primary muscle in the lower lip.
