Calbindin picks up calcium at the border of the intestinal tract and shuttles it across the intestinal tract (or mucosal) cell and on into the blood.
In general, how do fat soluble vitamins differ from water soluble vitamins?
a fat soluble-vitamin, since these can be stored in our body fat (adipose tissue) and in our liver for many months, or even years. However, since we have rapid turnover of body fluids, most water-soluble vitamins must be replenished more often to prevent excessive loss through the urine.
