Confidentiality refers to agreements made between researchers and subjects, through the consent process, about if and how researchers will protect information provided by the subjects.

Conflict of Interest Not including certain data (influencers who just recommend certain things that have an outcome that don't really prove as much) Personal views or connections might influence how findings are presented. Most common but big one Plagiarism Failing to give credit to other scholars - Fabrication and falsification = making up data to get better results in your favor - Non-publication of data = "cooking data" by omitting data that disconfirms hypothesis or research question. Need to explain negative, poor, or outlier data in your report - Faulty data collection = using poorly designed instruments or questions. Misleading participants. Poor recording procedures. - Conflict of interest = set of conditions in which professional judgment concerning a primary interest tends to be unduly influenced by a secondary interest. Scholars presenting their research must state if there is any funding or personal influence to the research - Plagiarism = failing to give credit to other scholars

the belmont report was created to protect human research participaints. there are three principles within the belmont report which is respect for persons, beneficence, and justice. respect: protect those with disabilities beneficence: no harm justice: who benefits from research.
