A regular pentagon has 5 equal sides. The perimeter of a regular pentagon measures 40cm. What is the length of each side?

If 5 sides measure 40cm, what is the length of one side? 40÷ 5 = 8. The length of each side is 8cm.

The length of a rectangle is 10cm and the width is 5cm. What is the perimeter of the rectangle?

The lengths of the rectangle are equal and so are its width. Thus, to find the perimeter, you will have to add the length twice and the width twice. 10 + 10 + 5 + 5 = 3cm. The perimeter is 30cm.

Lisa cuts a 40cm length of ribbon. She glues it around the perimeter of two identical squares. Draw a diagram of the two squares and label the length of each side.

This is fun! Lisa used 40cm ribbon for 2 identical squares. So, for one square she used 20cm. A sides of a square are equal. so, 20 ÷ 4 =5. Thus, you will have to draw two identical squares and label each side as 5 cms.
