Designated Observer Units
Emitted within the first minute of a nuclear detonation.
Initial nuclear radiation
Emitted later than one minute after a nuclear detonation
Residual nuclear radiation - Consists of fallout, neutron induced gamma activity (NIGA), and rainout Residual comes from 3 sources: 1. unused fissionable material, fission products, and neutron-induced activity. 2. These three sources combined emit alpha, beta, and gamma radiation.
