How have you resolved a challenging situation with a co-worker in the past?

A miscommunication caused some friction between myself and another flight attendant. The meal got delayed due to my error, and passengers were getting frustrated with the other flight attendant. I owned my mistake, apologized to my co-worker and offered to talk to the upset passengers.

Talk about a time you had to work w a difficult coworker.

At my most recent job, a new teacher was hired always seemed really aggressive & tense. To the point where a lot of the teachers would avoid him. One day when we were alone I asked him what was going on & it turns out he was just nervous because it was a new job & he felt out of place w the other teachers. After we got to know each other he became more comfortable & started relaxing more at work.

How will you represent United as a brand?

By being punctual, following company policies & always being excited to welcome new customers.

What's a quality FA should have?

Excellent communication skills, attentiveness & knowledgeable.

What are your customer service strengths?

I do a great job listening to the passengers when they ask me questions, make a request or have a concern. I want to make sure I meet their expectations and understand their problems.

Do you feel comfortable in new environments and situations?

I love landing in a new country and getting the chance to go to the local market. Everyone understands the language of food, even if I don't speak the native language there.

Why would you be a good fit @ United?

I love to travel & to meet new people, & I think being a FA is a very unique job. Working such a unique job would make me so happy & that enthusiasm would allow me to provide great customer service.

You hear 2 coworkers gossiping about another coworker on the plane. You are pretty sure passengers can hear what they're saying. What do you do?

I would approach the flight attendants and tell them quietly that their conversation can be heard by passengers and change the subject.

You overhear 2 passengers arguing about a recliner seat hurting their legs. What do you do?

I would approach the passengers and ask if they're ok to give them a chance to explain the situation. Then I'd check to see if we have any open seats within their class that the passenger w hurt kegs could move to. If they're none available I'd ask the passenger sitting in front of them if they would mind not reckoning their seats as far back since every customer has a right to comfort on their flight. If that doesn't work then I'd see if there was a passenger nearby who witnessed the event & is willing to switch seats.

What would you do if someone afraid of flying started panicking?

I would first ask if the passenger was OK and if there was anything I could provide. I would reassure the traveler that anxiety while flying is common and give some tips for staying calm.

What are the first things you would do in an emergency situation in the air?

I would get my own oxygen mask on before assisting other passengers. I'll double-check where the closest exit doors are and try to plan a few steps ahead so I can keep everyone as calm as possible.

Why do you think you will be a good Flight Attendant?

I would like to be a Flight attendant because I think working in high-standard service as a Flight attendant is very challenging and also I'm a person who like to take care of people.I just want to make them happy and I feel very proud and delighted when i see them smile.

You notice you are missing items you need for your I flight service. Requesting these items will delay the flight. What do you do?

I would notify my supervisor that we are missing items, retrieve said items and make an announcement so that our customers know we're late.

How would you handle a passenger who refuses to comply with flight attendant instructions during takeoff and landing?

I would repeat my instruction to the passenger, in case he/she misheard me due to cabin noise, and emphasize the consequences of disobeying a crew member. If the passenger still refuses to comply, I would seek assistance from other flight assistants. As a last resort, I would report the situation to the captain.

What would you do if a passenger tells you that he/she doesn't want to sit next to a person because of their ethnic background, other passengers hear this.

I would try to find the best ethical way to get through that matter and find the best solution for all passengers and apologized to the customers that were involved.

Talk about a time you exceeded expectations & went about/beyond for a customer.

In college while I worked as a student counselor I met a lot of first-year students who'd never lived away from home before. One in particular I had been in contact w for months before her move & was also becoming better acquainted w her mother. A few hours before her flight she had extreme cold feet & decided she could not make the move. So I spoke to her over the phone for hours & reassured her that I would be w her every step of the way, including airport pickup, moving her stuff into her dorm room & grocery shopping.

How did your last job prepare you to be a flight attendant?

In my last role as a teacher, I learned a lot more about organization and customers. I feel I was able to gain a better understanding of how to help customers feel valued or listened to.

What is the most important part of customer service?

Making sure customers don't feel like a number. Being warm, smiling, engaging in conversations & actually listening.

Tell me about a time you wish you'd handled a work situation differently?

Once I worked with a teacher who was making fun of a new teacher over a lesson activity & instead of stepping in & defending her I didn't involve myself. Since then I've promised myself that the next time I saw something similar that I would step in & help the new teacher.

What do you know about United Airlines?

They were founded in 1926, have 88 thou employees, serve over 300+ destinations & headquartered out of Chicago.

Why do you think there is an importance with an uniform?

Unicorns are important to a company's image because it creates a sense of belonging & equality. Uniforms unite workers and brings us all on the same platform.

Tell me about a time you were proud of the job did.

While I was a teacher in Thailand, my first grade class participated in 2 English speaking competitions. Where I had to prepare them to present in front of a large audience on an interesting topic & have visual aides. My students & I worked tirelessly together & my class ended up winning. Twice.

What do you foresee the challenges of being a flight attendant?

Working on holidays, which doesn't bother me since I think an excellent way to spend the holiday season is traveling.

Can you adhere to company policy about no tattoos?

Yes, I can adhere to policy by covering my tattoos using makeup & other tools.
