"CAUTION" Associated With Using Reverse

Except in emergency, propellers should be moved out of reverse below 50 knots to minimize propeller blade erosion, and during crosswind to minimize stress imposed on the propellers, engines, and airframe. Care must be exercised when reversing on runways with loose sand or dust on the surface. Flying gravel will damage propeller blades and dust may impair the pilot's forward visibility at low aircraft speeds.

JP-8 fuel per MIL-T-5624 has anti-icing additive per MIL-DTL-85470 blended in the fuel at the refinery and no further treatment is necessary. Some fuel suppliers blend in anti-icing additive, in their storage tanks. Prior to refueling, check with the fuel supplier to determine if fuel has been blended. To assure proper concentration by volume of fuel onboard, blend enough additive for the unblended fuel.

"WARNING" Associated With Crosswind Limitations

Landing with wind conditions in excess of the demonstrated crosswind component may result in damage to the aircraft. This should only be attempted during emergency situations.

Landing Gear Cycling Limitations

When conduction training operations, the landing gear cyclic rate shall not exceed 5 complete (extension and retraction) cycles equally spaced in a 20 minute period, without allowing 10-15 minute interval between 20 minute time groupings. The cycle rate should not exceed 10 cycles equal spaced in 1 hour. This rate is to keep the power pack motor operations within an intermittent duty class.

"WARNING" Associated With Icing Conditions

While in icing conditions, if there is an unexplained 30% increase of torque needed to maintain airspeed in level flight, a cumulative total of two or more inches of ice accumulation on the wing, an unexplained decrease of 15 KIAS, or an unexplained deviation between pilot's and copilot's airspeed indicators, the icing enviroment should be exited as soon as practicable. Ice accumulation on the pitot tube assemblies could cause complete loss of airspeed indication. 2x15=30 Rule 2 inches or more of ice accumulation on the wing 15 KIAS decrease after entering icing conditions 30% increase in required TQ to maintain desired airspeed Any variations from normal indicated airspeed, between the pilot and copilot airspeed tapes.
