WARNING SIGNS
- preparing you for what's happening - identify: construction, school zones, cross walks, intersections, ending lanes, upcoming turns, and animal crossings - colors: yellow or orange with black letters or symbols
REGULATORY SIGNS
- regulate/control movement of traffic by telling drivers what to do and what not to do colors: red, white, black, or green on white shapes: squares, rectangles, inverted triangles, octagons symbol: red circle w/line through it means NO
be alert for deer crossing the highway
Deer Crossing
not allowed to enter the marked street
Do Not Enter
no stopping, standing, or parking at location or during the designated times given
No Parking
must wait until the signal turns green before proceeding or making turns
No Turn on Red
some of the international signs adopted across the U.S.; they mean "no right turn," "no left turn," and "no U turn"
No U turns
traffic is only traveling in one direction (indicated by arrow)
One Way
cross walk ahead, yield to pedestrians
Pedestrian Crossing
entering school zone --> watch for pedestrians
School Crossing
shows the maximum speed allowed on a roadway -- driving over the posted speed is illegal. REMEMBER WE DRIVE FOR CONDITIONS IN DELAWARE!!! (ideal conditions)
Speed Limit
must come to complete stop before stop line or cross walk
Stop Sign
must give right-of-way to any vehicle or pedestrian approaching the intersection; only stop if necessary
