Hypothesis
A possible explanation for a set of observations or an answer a specific question, must be testable, written in future tense, a prediction on how the IV will affect the DV
scientific inquiry
The diverse ways in which scientists study the natural world and propose explanations based on the evidence they gather.
Science
a way of learning about the natural world and the knowledge gained throughout
inferring
an explanation of an event based on observations. you can make more than one inference. they are logical, subject to change, and arguable
Quantitive Observation
an observation based on count (numbers, measurements, etc.)
Qualitative Oberservation
an observation based on the five senses (sight, taste, touch, smell, sound)
making models
creating representations of complex objects or processes
classifying
the process of grouping together items that are alike in some way
Predicting
the process of making a forecast of what will happen in the future based on past experiences or evidence

the study of living things
Obeserving
using one or more of your senses to gather information
