How do you solve for the diameter of a circle?

Diameter ÷ 2

How do you solve for the radius of a circle?

*If the problem says its a square, then it is safe to assume that all sides are equal. So for the square: W=12cm and L=12cm *Since the square has a width of 12cm, you can also say that the diameter of the circle is 12cm! Area of the square = 12x12 = 144cm squared Area of the circle = 12÷2=6. 6x6=36.... 36π or 113.04cm Answer: 144-113.04 = *30.96cm*

If the length of this square is 12cm, what is the area of the shaded region in between the circle and the square?

*If the problem says its a square, then it is safe to assume that all sides are equal. So for the square: W=10cm and L=10cm *Since the square has a width of 10cm, you can also say that the diameter of the circle is 10cm! Area of the square = 10x10 = 100cm squared Area of the circle = 10÷2=5. 5x5=25.... 25π or 78.5cm Answer: 100-78.5 = *21.5cm*

If the width of this square is 10cm, what is the area of the shaded region in between the circle and the square?
