(a) A motor vehicle, trailer, semitrailer, pole trailer, or mobile home, registered in this state, must have the following items inspected at an inspection station or by an inspector: - tires - wheel assembly. - safety guards or flaps, if required by Section 547.606 - brake system, including power brake unit. - steering system, including power steering. - lighting equipment. - horns and warning devices. - mirrors. - windshield wipers. - sun screening devices, unless the vehicle is exempt from sunscreen device restrictions under Section 547.613. - front seat belts in vehicles on which seat belt anchorages were part of the manufacturer's original equipment. - exhaust system. - exhaust emission system. - fuel tank cap, using pressurized testing equipment approved by department rule; and - emissions control equipment as designated by department rule. (b) A moped is subject to inspection in the same manner as a motorcycle, except that the only items of equipment required to be inspected are the brakes, headlamps, rear lamps, and reflectors, which must comply with the standards prescribed by Sections 547.408 and 547.801.

TX TC 550.025. Duty on Striking Structure, Fixture, or Highway Landscaping
(a) The operator of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting only in damage to a structure adjacent to a highway or a fixture or landscaping legally on or adjacent to a highway shall: (1) take reasonable steps to locate and notify the owner or person in charge of the property of the accident and of the operator's name and address and the registration number of the vehicle the operator was driving; and (2) if requested and available, show the operator's driver's license to the owner or person in charge of the property. (b) A person commits an offense if the person violates Subsection (a). An offense under this section is: (1) a Class C misdemeanor, if the damage to all fixtures and landscaping is less than $200; or (2) a Class B misdemeanor, if the damage to all fixtures and landscaping is $200 or more.
547.401 Brakes Required
(b) A trailer, semitrailer, or pole trailer is NOT required to have brakes if: (1) its gross weight is 4,500 pounds or less; or (2) its gross weight is heavier than 4,500 pounds but not heavier than 15,000 pounds, and it is drawn at a speed of not more than 30 miles per hour.

Crash report CR-100 2.0 General Information
When should a Peace Officer submit a crash report? A law enforcement officer who, in the regular course of duty, investigates a motor vehicle crash resulting in injury to or death of any person is required to forward a crash report to TXDot, not later than the 10th day after the date of the crash. Additionally, a report should be submitted to TxDOT for any investigated crash that results in property damage to any one person's property to the apparent extent of $1,000 or more. If a crash does not involve injury or property damage, but is investigated, it is not necessary to submit the report to TxDOT When should a Peace Officer submit a supplement report? Non-contact traffic units should be identified and reported. A non-contact traffic unit is a vehicle which contributes to a crash by unusual or illegal behavior but strikes nothing and suffers neither damage nor injury. Information on a non-contact unit, including any factors contributing to the crash, should be reported on the crash report the same as if it had been in actual contact. The unit and person information should be shown in the space provided for units in the crash. What is the purpose of the "Numbered Data Fields"? "Communication common carrier"
means a person who owns or operates a telephone system in this state that includes equipment or facilities for the conveyance, transmission, or reception of communications and who receives compensation from persons who use that system.
"Data"
means a representation of information, knowledge, facts, concepts, or instructions that is being prepared or has been prepared in a formalized manner and is intended to be stored or processed, is being stored or processed, or has been stored or processed in a computer. Data may be embodied in any form, including but not limited to computer printouts, magnetic storage media, laser storage media, and punch cards, or may be stored internally in the memory of the computer.
"Computer software"
means a set of computer programs, procedures, and associated documentation related to the operation of a computer, computer system, or computer network.

"Computer virus"
means an unwanted computer program or other set of instructions inserted into a computer's memory, operating system, or program that is specifically constructed with the ability to replicate itself or to affect the other programs or files in the computer by attaching a copy of the unwanted program or other set of instructions to one or more computer programs or files.
"Computer system"
means any combination of a computer or computer network with the documentation, computer software, or physical facilities supporting the computer or computer network.
"Identifying information"
means information that alone or in conjunction with other information identifies a person, including a person's: (A) name and date of birth; (B) unique biometric data, including the person's fingerprint, voice print, or retina or iris image; (C) unique electronic identification number, address, routing code, or financial institution account number; (D) telecommunication identifying information or access device; and (E) social security number or other government-issued identification number.
"Privileged information"
means protected health information as that term is defined by the privacy rule of the Administrative Simplification subtitle of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 information that is subject to the attorney-client privilege
"Decryption," "decrypt," or "decrypted"
means the decoding of encrypted communications or information, whether by use of a decryption key, by breaking an encryption formula or algorithm, or by the interference with a person's use of an encryption service in a manner that causes information or communications to be stored or transmitted without encryption.
"Encryption," "encrypt," or "encrypted"
means the encoding of data, documents, wire or electronic communications, or other information, using mathematical formulas or algorithms in order to preserve the confidentiality, integrity, or authenticity of, and prevent unauthorized access to, such information.
"Computer network"
means the interconnection of two or more computers or computer systems by satellite, microwave, line, or other communication medium with the capability to transmit information among the computers.
"Computer services"
means the product of the use of a computer, the information stored in the computer, or the personnel supporting the computer, including computer time, data processing, and storage functions.

TX TC 547.333. Multiple-Beam Lighting Equipment Required
