The 7 Organelles and their functions.
Vacuole
A membrane-bound cavity within a cell, often containing a watery liquid or secretion.
Mitochondria
Cell organelle that breaks down food and releases energy.
Cytoplasm
Constantly moving gel-like mixture inside the cell membrane that contains heredity material and is the locaction of most of the cell's life processes.
Nucleus
Contains the genetic material (DNA) and is the control center of the cell.
Chloroplast
Green chloropyll-containing, plant-cell organelle that uses light energy to produce sugar form carbo dioxide and water.
Cell membrane
Protective outer covering of all cells that regulates the interaction between the cell and the enviroment.
Cell wall
Provides support and shape for the plant cells. It is made mostly if cellulose.
