I think Thomas Hobbes wanted a absolute monarchy. He only says that there must be a supreme sovereign power and argues that absolute monarchy is the only right type of government.

Men must give up their freedom to the government. The power of the government must be absolute in order to keep men in check. I do not agree with Hobbes because men should be able to keep their freedom.

People are born free, but they have to follow laws eventually so they give up that freedom. They do this to live under a government with laws.

The "natural rights" of all men are life, liberty, and property. Men are naturally born in perfect freedom, equal, independent, and can act how they want to.
