1) Thunderstorms occur 2) cold air overtakes the warm air 3) Air between the cold & warm air begins to swirl 4) warm air pushes the swirling over 5) The swirling sucks warm air up 6) The funnel grows and stretches 7) When the funnel hits the ground it is a tornado. *Remember if funnel doesn't hit the ground it is NOT a tornado but just a funnel cloud

What are the difference between a tornado watch and a warning?

A tornado watch is when the is a possible chance for a tornado to form in the air. A tornado Warning is where there has been a spotted tornado ON THE GROUND.

Cyclone- Near South Pacific and Indian Ocean Typhoon- Near Japan in the Pacific

What are some safety things you need to keep in your mind when a tornado is coming through?

DO NOT GET IN A ROOM WITH A WINDOW. you also might want to go under ground if you can don't have a basement you need to go to somewhere in your house where that room is surrounded by 4 or 3 walls to be safe.

How is a Hurricane Formed?

Hurricanes begin just as a tropical storm over warm moist waters of the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans near the Equator. As moisture evaporates it rises until enormous amounts of heated moist air are twisted high into the atmosphere.

This tornado is formed by gust of winds, and these tornados are always small.

This tornado is not just one tornado, it is more that one spinning tube of air.

The size of a tornado is typically 500 ft., but can be smaller or few feet or a few miles long. The shape of a tornado is a funnel or a big fat wedge. The wind speed can be anywhere from 65 to 250 mile per hour. The color of a tornado depends on what it is going over. For example, if it was going over dirt it would be brown.
