Barometer

Barometers measure the atmospheric pressure. It is measured in two ways: either inches of mercury or millibars. Looks kind of like a pocket watch, but has only one hand.

Wind Sock

Like the Wind Vane, this determines the direction of the wind, so they decide if it is safe for take-off. This is a cloth, that flutters in the air, and that is how it determines the direction.

Hygrometer

Measures the amount of water vapor in the air (not humidity). Looks kind of like a barometer, but a little different.

Rain Gauge

Rain Gauges tell you how much it has rained. It is measured in inches. A long plastic tube, that has marks which shows you how much water is in it.

Radar

This instrument is used to measure speed, size, and density of clouds.

Sling Psychrometer

This instrument measures relative humidity, or how humid it is outside. Consists of two thermometers, one wet, and one dry.

Anemometer

This instrument measures wind speed, or how fast the wind is blowing. It is measured in miles per hour. Has three cups that circle around the middle when the wind blows.

Weather Satellite

This instrument orbits around the Earth, and measures the atmosphere, giving a very wide range of data.

Wind Vane

This instrument shows you which direction the wind is blowing at that time. It tells you if it is North, South, East, or West. Has four poles in the middle, one for each direction.

Thermometer

This measures the temperature around it, in both Fahrenheit and Celsius.

Weather Balloon

This records many things: temperature, pressure, humidity, wind speed direction. It looks pretty much like a regular balloon, but it's not.
