Helene: If they do see thee, they will murther thee Come

Alack! There lies more peril in thine eye than twenty of their swords. Look thou but sweet am I am proof against their enmity.

Newt: No need to go on

Do I get the part or don't I?

Helene: Take it?

Don't be superior Miss Julie Come down to my level and I will lift us both up.

Helene: Where?

Oh Home.

Newt: Okay! That's it!

Okay

Helene: I want you to promise you will stay here until i get you your present.

Present?

Newt: I want a comparison.

Right. All right, Julie? Miss Julie.

Newt: Would you mind?

Sure if Julie's game.

Newt: Here's a script. Tryouts tomorrow night. Eight o'clock.

Thank you, sir I'll be right on time

Helene: Now look what Romeo says.

Um-

Helene: Romeo and Juliet. The ribbon marks my favorite scene.

Um.

Miss Sawyer: Everyone out! The party's at my place, Come along all of you.

Well I've got to go.

Helene: What fiend made me think you handsome? Was it the appeal of strength to someone who needs strength. Or could it be love? Could it be that? Do you have any idea what I'm talking about? Do you know what it is to love?

What it is to love (lean in for kiss)

Helene: All right. I'll let you go if you'll promise me one thing.

What's that?

Helene: How dare you!

What?

Newt: I want the tryout scene.

Why?

Helene: It's right over here. Promise?

All right. Yes. I promise.

Catherine: Was that real burgundy?

Excuse me, please.

Newt: While you're waiting, you might study that role.

Good! Yes! Thank you! Yes, I will!

Newt: I'll always remember what they said

Harry and Helene: Who are we this time?

Newt: Harry, is there a pretty girl downstairs? A new girl?

I didn't notice.

Helene: It's a play

I see

Helene: Open to the marked scene.

I see. Yes. Well I better-

Helene: No need to call me "Miss" now. Not after what's happened.

I want something I can throw.

Helene: Won't you take me to the cast party, please?

I'm afraid I'm not much on parties.

Newt: You'd notice this. Well, maybe not.

I'm sorry I wasn't waiting with the others. I was across in the Reference Room just passing the time.

Helene: Why not?

If I can kiss his daughter, I can drink his wine.

Miss Sawyer: You should be proud of yourself. Newt: What do you mean?

If you're through with me now, I want to go.

Newt: Well, for a first reading, it wasn't too bad.

Is there a chance I'll get the part?

Harry: Sure if Julie's game. Helene: What?

Julie. Miss Julie. That's you. My girl.

Newt: How?

Looking at flags of different countries in the front of the dictionary.

Helene: That doesn't matter. Not any more.

Not any more. You don't matter any more Count!

Newt: And if you don't mind waiting, we may need you again.

Not at all. Do you want the script back?

Newt: In the script, you kick over his boots.

Not enough. I'm throwing servitude out of my life. The Count's coat is over his chair maybe a little ribbon in the label when referring to her father, Julie can nod toward the coat on the chair. It becomes the Count. Okay, baby. Go!

Helene: Please tell me this is important to you, too. And hold me. Hold me!

Not here. Not in this house Not when the count can ring for me to come polish his boots.

Newt: Wait! Hold it!

She thinks she can just treat me like dirt!

Harry: I want something I can throw. Newt: What?

Something representing the authority of the count

Helene: We'll go away. Start a life somewhere else. We could

That takes money. Have you got money? We'll, get it somewhere. Take it!

Miss Sawyer: She can't do that scene. Don't embarrass the poor girl.

The poor girl. HA

Newt: Then he finished, and he turned back into the pale hardware-store clerk again.

Was that all right?

Helene: Don't you want to see what my favorite scene is?

Well-

Newt: When I told him I'd been appointed director and that I wanted him in the play, he said what he always said to anybody who asked him to be in a play. And it was kind of sad if you think about it.

Who am I this time

Hellene: Have you started stealing from the Count's cellar? Miss Sawyer: The Count's Cellar

Why not?

Helene: Read what Romeo says. Read it!

With love's light wings did I o'erperch these walls. For stony limits cannot hold love out. And what love can do, that dares love attempt. Therefore thy kinsmen are no let to me.

Newt: When you go down , send her up if she's there. Her name's Helene Shaw.

Yes sir I'd be glad to. Sure.

Newt: I think we can safely say we're leaning powerfully in your direction.

You are? Well, thanks! Thanks a lot! Thank you, Miss Sawyer. And thanks.

Newt: You'll do.

You better believe it. See you at rehearsal, Julie. Out of my way Count.
