French National Day

The celebration begins on the evening of July 13 with fireworks, dancing and other festivities (parties). During the day of July 14, there are military parades (parades), music, picnics and balls. On this day, people celebrate a bit like in the United States for Independence Day of July 4th. The French celebrate the national holiday on July 14 to mark, or commemorate, the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille in July 1789. During the period of violence "the Terror" in 1793, the nobles, the king and the queen were imprisoned and executed by the guillotine. The French Revolution has become a symbol of the liberty and liberty of the people. The new government writes "The Declaration of Human Rights" inspired by The American Declaration of Independence with the help of the Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson. We celebrate July 14 because the French rebelled against the monarchy in 1789 and invaded the Bastille which was a prison. Reforms were being prepared to give rights to ordinary people. This was not enough in comparison with the life of King Louis XVI and his court. The people had decided to overthrow the monarchy and start the French Revolution.
