In the Access Table, click the Default Value property box, type Fr, press Enter.

From the current view (Design view), change the Field Size property for the RAStudentID field to 4.

In the Access Table, click the Field Size property box, type 4, and press Enter.

From the current view (Design view), apply the Medium Time format to the StartTime field.

In the Access Table, click the Format property box, click the Drop-Down button, click the Medium Time item.

Apply the Short Date input mask format to the selected field (StartDate). Do not change default format or placeholder characters.

In the Access Table, click the Input Mask property box, click the Input Mask Build... button. Inside the Input Mask Wizard dialog, from the Input Mask list, select Short Date. Click Next, click Next, and click Finish.

From Design view, add a field validation rule to the AccountID field to require that values are less than 2000.

In the Access Table, click the Validation Rule property box, type "<2000", press Enter.

From the current view, delete the Major field from the table.

In the Access Table, right-click the Row Selector. In the Right Click menu, click the Delete Rows menu item. Click Yes.

On the Create tab, in the Tables group, click the Table Design button.

On the Create tab, in the Tables group, click the Table Design button. In the Access Table, type "RA ID", press Tab, click the Data Type Drop-Down button, click the AutoNumber item, press Tab, type "Unique RA ID". Click the Primary Key button. In the application header, click the Save button. Inside the Save As dialog, type "ResidentAdvisors" in the Table name input, click OK.

Modify the table relationships so that when a record is updated in the Department table, the related records in the Professor table will also be updated.

On the Database Tools tab, in the Relationships group, click the Relationships button. Double-click the connection between the Department and Professor tables. Inside the Edit Relationships dialog, check the "Cascade Update Related Fields" checkbox, click OK.

Modify the table relationships so that when a record is deleted in the Department table, the related records in the Professor table will also be deleted.

On the Database Tools tab, in the Relationships group, click the Relationships button. Double-click the line connecting the Department and Professor tables. Click the "Cascade Delete Related Records" checkbox. Click OK.

Create a new relationship between the EmployeeID field in the Professor table and the Advisor field in the Student table. Ensure that values in the Advisor field have a corresponding value in the EmployeeID field.

On the Database Tools tab, in the Relationships group, click the Relationships button. Drag the EmployeeID field from the Professor table to the Advisor field from the Student table. Inside the Edit Relationships dialog, check the Enforce Referential Integrity checkbox, click the Create button.

Modify the table properties to display the message Due date cannot be before invoice date if the table validation rule is violated.

On the Design tab in the Show/Hide group, click the Property Sheet button. Click the Validation Text option. Inside the Property Sheet dialog, type "Due date cannot be before invoice date" in the Validation Text input, then press Enter.

From Design view, modify the field properties to display the message Asset accounts must be in the 1000s when the field validation rule is violated.

On the Design tab, in the Show/Hide group, click the Property Sheet button. Click the Validation Text option. Inside the Property Sheet dialog, type "Asset accounts must be in the 1000s", press Enter.

Enter a validation rule for the table to require values in the DueDate field to be greater than the values in the Date field. Remember to enclose the field names in square brackets.

On the Design tab, in the Show/Hide group, click the Property Sheet button. Type [DueDate]>[Date] in the Validation Rule box. Press Enter.

From the current view, insert a new Date/Time field named StartDate between the DegreeName and Status fields. Save the table when you are finished.

On the Design tab, in the Tools group, click the Insert Rows button. Type StartDate in the Field Name cell and press Tab. Expand the Data Type list and select Date/Time. Click the Save button on the Quick Access Toolbar.
